The best lead finders in 2026 are Openlead for finding the companies and people that fit a plain-words description, Apollo.io for a free plan with emails and phone numbers, and Hunter for finding emails at companies you already know. For local businesses by city and keyword, D7 Lead Finder is the cheap specialist.

I built Openlead, so weigh my #1 pick with that in mind. I compared all nine on their official pricing pages, product pages and G2 reviews on November 4, 2026, with the same blocks and at least one honest con for each.

How I tested these lead finders

I didn't pay for a seat in every tool, so this is a desk comparison. On November 4, 2026 I read each vendor's pricing page and product pages, ran the live Google results for "lead finder", and read the G2 pros-and-cons pages for the eight tools listed there (Openlead isn't on G2 yet).

I compared four things:

  • What you get per lead: company, person, title, email, phone, or a mix.
  • Where the leads come from: a fixed contact database, LinkedIn, a local business index or a live web search.
  • The free allowance: how many leads you can get before paying.
  • Monthly cost for a small team: including what eats credits.

The next version of this article adds a hands-on run: one ICP sentence in every tool, counting the fitting leads each returns.

1. Openlead: Best for finding leads from a plain-words description

What it does: Openlead takes a sentence about your ideal customer, or your website, and returns up to 25 companies that fit, each with one to three people in the roles you care about. Best for: founders and agency teams who know who they sell to and want a list of the right companies and people without building filters.

Type "Shopify agencies in the Netherlands" and Openlead searches the web, explains why each company matches, and names the people at each with a LinkedIn profile link and the page it found them on. It stops at names and profile links: there are no email addresses or phone numbers in v1, so you'll pair it with an email finder like Hunter or Apollo.

Key features

  • Search from a sentence or a URL: describe your ICP the way you'd tell a colleague, or paste your website.
  • A reason per company: each result says why it fits, so you can cut weak matches fast.
  • 1 to 3 people per company: names, titles and profile links, with the source page for each.
  • Lists and CSV export: save leads to lists and download them with sources and fit reasons.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ No filter setup: one sentence starts the search
  • ✅ Every person links to the page Openlead found them on
  • ✅ Plans count companies found, and repeat results your database already holds are free
  • ❌ No email addresses or phone numbers yet
  • ❌ 25 companies per search
  • ❌ New, with no G2 reviews and no CRM sync

What users say

Openlead is new and has no reviews on G2 yet (I checked on November 4, 2026). This block gets a real user quote once there's one to link.

Pricing

From openlead.ai/#pricing on November 4, 2026:

  • Solo Founder: $29/month billed yearly ($35 monthly), 300 companies a month, 1 seat
  • Early Stage Companies: $99/month billed yearly ($149 monthly), 1,500 companies a month, up to 5 seats
  • Large Scale Outreach: $499/month billed yearly ($699 monthly), 10,000 companies a month
  • Launch offer: $150 in free credits for 3 months, $50 of it without a card

Bottom line

Pick Openlead if your hard part is knowing which companies and people fit. Skip it if you already have the list and only need emails. Try Openlead free

2. Apollo.io: Best free lead finder with emails and phone numbers

What it does: Apollo is a B2B contact and company database with search filters, emails and phone numbers paid for with credits, and built-in email sequences. Best for: small teams that want leads and contact details in one tool, starting free.

Apollo's free plan has no time limit and includes contact and account data, basic filters and 900 credits a year per seat. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 8, so a free seat covers up to 900 emails a year, or about 110 phone numbers.

Key features

  • People and company search: filter by title, industry, company size and location.
  • Emails and phone numbers on credits: 1 credit per email, 8 per phone number.
  • Sequences: email outreach in the same tool (2 sequences on the free plan).
  • Browser extensions: prospect from LinkedIn, Gmail and Salesforce.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ A free plan with no time limit and 900 credits a year
  • ✅ Leads, contact data and sequences in one place
  • ❌ Reviewers report outdated contacts and bounced emails
  • ❌ Credits reset each cycle and don't roll over
  • ❌ The interface gets busy as features pile up

What users say

"It makes it easy to find relevant companies and decision-makers, build targeted prospect lists, and manage outreach from one platform." (Ankit S., G2, August 2026)

"The contact data is also not always 100% accurate, so I still need to verify some information before reaching out." (Ankit S., G2, August 2026)

Pricing

From apollo.io/pricing on November 4, 2026, per seat and billed yearly (yearly billing saves 24%):

  • Free: $0, 900 credits per seat per year
  • Basic: $49/seat/month, 30,000 credits per seat per year
  • Professional: $79/seat/month, 48,000 credits per seat per year
  • Organization: $119/seat/month, minimum 3 seats

Bottom line

Pick Apollo if you want emails and phone numbers next to every lead without paying on day one. Skip it if you hate managing credits.

3. Instantly: Best for finding leads and emailing them in one tool

What it does: Instantly is a cold email platform with a built-in Lead Finder: a database of 450M+ B2B contacts with 13 filters, paid for with Instantly credits. Best for: teams already sending cold email from Instantly who want leads to flow straight into campaigns.

You can filter by title, seniority, company size, industry, location, technologies and buying intent, type a keyword such as "agency", or enter a client's domain to find similar companies. Leads go into a campaign in one click, which is the reason to buy them inside Instantly; the credits are billed on top of your outreach plan.

Key features

  • 450M+ B2B leads: search with 13 filters, including keywords and lookalikes.
  • Waterfall email enrichment: work emails from 5+ providers.
  • Company enrichment: job postings, news, technology and funding data.
  • Straight into campaigns: export to Instantly campaigns, CRMs or other outreach tools.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ Leads land in your cold email campaigns without an export step
  • ✅ Lookalike and keyword filters in the base credit plan
  • ❌ Credits are billed apart from the outreach plans
  • ❌ One G2 reviewer calls the lead search a black box with basic filters
  • ❌ No free plan on the pricing page

What users say

"When you're doing a decent amount of outreach, having everything in one place makes things much easier." (Akash G., G2, October 2026)

"Super search to actually adding leads is a black box." (IT services reviewer, 2/5, G2, October 2026)

Pricing

From instantly.ai/pricing on November 4, 2026 (Lead Finder credits only; outreach plans cost extra):

  • Growth Credits: $47/month, or $37.60/month billed yearly, for 1,500 to 2,000 credits a month
  • Supersonic Credits: $97/month, or $87.30/month billed yearly, for 5,000 to 7,500 credits
  • Hyper Credits: from $197/month for 10,000 to 200,000 credits
  • Enterprise: custom pricing (sales call)

Bottom line

Pick Instantly if you already send cold email there and want leads in the same place. Skip it if you only need a lead list and no sending tool.

4. Hunter: Best for finding emails at companies you already know

What it does: Hunter finds and verifies professional email addresses by domain or by name, and its Discover database helps you find new companies and leads. Best for: anyone with a list of target companies who needs the right email addresses at each.

Discover filters companies by industry (487 to choose from), headquarters, headcount, technologies and intent, and saves your ICP search so new matches keep coming. Its strength is the email step: Domain Search lists the addresses Hunter knows at a company, and every plan includes unlimited users.

Key features

  • Domain Search: list the email addresses Hunter knows at a company domain.
  • Email Finder and Verifier: find one person's email by name and check it before you send.
  • Discover: a B2B database with industry, technology and intent filters to find new companies.
  • Unlimited users on every plan: no per-seat pricing.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ Free plan with 50 credits a month
  • ✅ Unlimited users, so a team doesn't pay per seat
  • ❌ Credits go quickly on larger campaigns
  • ❌ Advanced Discover filters start on the paid plans
  • ❌ Built around email; the plans list no phone number lookups

What users say

"What I like best about Hunter is how simple and efficient it makes finding and verifying professional email addresses." (brandon H., G2)

"One downside is that the credit system can feel limiting, especially when working on larger prospecting campaigns." (brandon H., G2)

Pricing

From hunter.io/pricing on November 4, 2026, per account with unlimited users:

  • Free: $0, 50 credits a month
  • Starter: $49/month, or $34/month billed yearly, 2,000 credits a month
  • Growth: $149/month, or $104/month billed yearly, 10,000 credits a month
  • Scale: $299/month, or $209/month billed yearly, 25,000 credits a month
  • Enterprise: custom pricing (sales call)

Bottom line

Pick Hunter if you know your target companies and need verified emails at each. Skip it if you need mobile numbers.

5. Seamless.AI: Best for contact details on any website

What it does: Seamless.AI finds cell phones, emails and direct dials for B2B professionals, in its app and through a Chrome extension that works while you browse. Best for: sales reps who prospect from LinkedIn and company websites and want contact details on the spot.

Prospector searches Seamless.AI's contact data with AI-assisted filters, and the Chrome extension pulls the same details from LinkedIn or a company website while you browse. Phone numbers are the draw, and the most common complaint: G2 reviewers flag inaccurate data 410 times, phone numbers first.

Key features

  • Chrome extension: pull contact details while you browse LinkedIn or a company site.
  • Prospector search: AI-assisted filters over real-time, verified B2B contacts.
  • Job change tracking: spot when a past contact moves to a new company.
  • Buyer intent and enrichment: add intent signals and keep CRM records current.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ Mobile numbers and direct dials alongside emails
  • ✅ Free sign-up to try it
  • ❌ No public pricing
  • ❌ Inaccurate data is the top complaint on G2 (410 mentions), mostly phone numbers
  • ❌ Gaps for smaller and newer companies

What users say

"Seamless makes my job 1000x easier, especially when it comes to finding the right decision-maker’s contact information for any role." (Claudia T., G2)

"Sometimes smaller or newer companies still have missing or outdated contact details." (Palak G., G2)

Pricing

Custom pricing (sales call). Seamless.AI's pricing page offers a free sign-up and "special pricing" for unlimited users, bulk credits and add-ons, with no list prices (checked November 4, 2026).

Bottom line

Pick Seamless.AI if your reps want phone numbers while they browse. Skip it if you need to see a price before a sales call.

6. Kaspr: Best for phone numbers and emails from LinkedIn profiles

What it does: Kaspr is a Chrome extension that shows phone numbers and emails on LinkedIn profiles, groups and events, with a web app to manage and export leads. Best for: recruiters and sales reps who work from LinkedIn and call their leads.

Kaspr's paid plans include unlimited B2B email credits; phone numbers are the scarce part, with 100 a month on Starter and 200 on Business. The free plan works as a trial: 15 B2B emails, 5 phone numbers and 5 direct emails a month, with a 100-lead export limit.

Key features

  • LinkedIn Chrome extension: contact details on profiles, groups and events.
  • Unlimited B2B emails on paid plans: phone credits are the limit.
  • CSV enrichment: upload LinkedIn URLs and get contact data back.
  • CRM integrations: HubSpot and Salesforce, plus exports.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ Fast lookups straight from LinkedIn
  • ✅ Unused monthly credits roll over
  • ❌ Phone credits run out quickly at volume
  • ❌ Works from LinkedIn URLs, which reviewers say makes bulk work slow
  • ❌ Per-user pricing adds up for teams

What users say

"This extension is simple to use on Chrome and makes it easy to extract data from LinkedIn." (small-business reviewer, G2)

"One drawback is that the credit system depletes rapidly when engaging in high volume sourcing." (Dev S., G2)

Pricing

From kaspr.io/pricing on November 4, 2026, per user per month:

  • Free: $0, 15 B2B email credits, 5 phone credits and 5 direct email credits a month
  • Starter: $49 to $65 per user per month (the page shows both figures; the lower one looks like the yearly rate), unlimited B2B emails, 100 phone credits a month
  • Business: $79 to $99 per user per month, 200 phone credits a month
  • Organization: yearly only, at least 5 users, price on request

Bottom line

Pick Kaspr if you prospect on LinkedIn and need to call people. Skip it if you want to build lists of hundreds of leads at once.

7. Skrapp.io: Best for low-cost email finding on LinkedIn

What it does: Skrapp.io finds and verifies professional emails from LinkedIn, by domain or by name, and has a Lead Finder to search for new B2B contacts. Best for: solo founders and small teams who need emails on a small budget.

Skrapp's Lead Finder searches a 200M+ contact database by company type, industry, location and revenue, and its extension finds emails on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and company websites. You only pay for deliverable emails: a credit buys one address marked Valid or Catch-all.

Key features

  • LinkedIn extension: find emails while you browse profiles.
  • Lead Finder: a 200M+ contact database you filter by industry, location and revenue.
  • Domain search: list emails at a company domain.
  • Pay for deliverable emails: a credit buys one email marked Valid or Catch-all.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ From $29/month billed yearly, one of the cheapest paid plans here
  • ✅ Free plan with 50 credits
  • ❌ Some emails still bounce, according to reviewers
  • ❌ Reviewers ask for phone numbers, which it doesn't list
  • ❌ Reviewers want more filters inside the platform

What users say

"Easy to install and use on LinkedIn to search for email adresses." (Nicole N., G2)

"Sometimes it generates wrong information about the lead, such as wrong company information and email address." (Aaron C., G2)

Pricing

From skrapp.io/pricing on November 4, 2026:

  • Free: $0, 50 credits
  • Professional: $29/month billed yearly ($39 monthly), at the default credit tier
  • Enterprise: $262/month billed yearly ($349 monthly), at the default credit tier

Bottom line

Pick Skrapp.io if you need emails for a few hundred leads a month and the budget is tight. Skip it if you need phone numbers or a big database to search.

8. LinkedIn Sales Navigator: Best for finding decision makers on LinkedIn

What it does: Sales Navigator is LinkedIn's paid lead and account search, with 50+ advanced filters, AI summaries (Lead IQ and Account IQ) and 50 InMails a month. Best for: sellers who want to find and message decision makers inside LinkedIn.

Sales Navigator finds the people and leaves the emails to you. Most teams pair it with an email finder (Kaspr, Skrapp.io or Hunter above), and G2 reviewers list the missing CSV export among its top complaints.

Key features

  • 50+ advanced search filters: title, seniority, company size, industry and more.
  • Lead IQ and Account IQ: AI summaries for faster research.
  • 50 InMails a month: message people outside your network.
  • CRM sync on Advanced Plus: push leads and accounts to your CRM.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ LinkedIn's own data for titles and job changes
  • ✅ Free trial for eligible members
  • ❌ No emails or phone numbers to export
  • ❌ $119.99/month per license on monthly billing
  • ❌ InMail and connection limits, according to reviewers

What users say

"I really like the unlimited profile viewing and stats on LinkedIn Sales Navigator." (Santhosh K., G2, September 2026)

"I found 50 InMails insufficient for my needs, and being able to make only 30 connections per day is also too limiting." (Santhosh K., G2, September 2026)

Pricing

From LinkedIn's plans page on November 4, 2026, per license, before tax:

  • Core: $119.99/month, or $1,079.88/year
  • Advanced: $159.99/month, or $1,799.88/year
  • Advanced Plus: custom pricing (sales call)

Bottom line

Pick Sales Navigator if you sell through LinkedIn conversations. Skip it if you need a spreadsheet of leads with emails.

9. D7 Lead Finder: Best for local business leads by city and keyword

What it does: D7 Lead Finder searches local businesses by keyword and location ("dentists in Boise") and returns up to 1,200 leads per search with business email, website, address and social links. Best for: agencies and freelancers selling to local businesses such as clinics, restaurants or trades.

D7 says its database holds 65,000,000+ leads, and a list usually returns 300 to 1,200 businesses depending on the niche and city. Expect company-level contacts: you get the company's email and website, rarely a named owner or manager.

Key features

  • Keyword plus location search: any industry, any country.
  • Up to 1,200 leads per search: with business email, website, postal address and social links.
  • Ad and pixel tracking: see which leads run Facebook or Google ads.
  • Exports: CSV, Excel and PDF on paid plans.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ Cheap, month-to-month plans
  • ✅ 5 free searches a day to try it
  • ❌ Free searches can't be exported
  • ❌ Company-level contacts, not named decision makers
  • ❌ Only six reviews on G2

What users say

D7 has six reviews on G2 with an average of 3.8 out of 5, and only one lists written pros: a small-business SDR describes it as a simple prospecting and list building tool for people new to sales (G2). Six reviews is too few to say much about data quality.

Pricing

From D7's plans page on November 4, 2026, monthly and cancel anytime:

  • Free: 5 searches a day, basic data, no export
  • Starter: $44.99/month, 10 searches a day
  • Agency: $54.99/month, 30 searches a day
  • Professional: $119.99/month, 100 searches a day, 5 sub-accounts

Bottom line

Pick D7 if you sell to local businesses and need volume by city. Skip it if you sell to B2B companies and need named people.

How to choose the right lead finder

Start with what you're missing. If you don't know which companies fit, you need a search tool. If you have the companies, you need an email finder. If you sell to local shops, you need a local business index.

Choose Openlead if you: want the companies and the right people from one sentence, and you'll add emails with a second tool. Choose Apollo.io if you: want emails and phone numbers next to each lead and a free start. Choose Instantly if you: already run cold email in Instantly. Choose Hunter or Skrapp.io if you: have target companies and need their emails. Choose Seamless.AI or Kaspr if you: want phone numbers for calling. Choose Sales Navigator if you: sell through LinkedIn messages. Choose D7 Lead Finder if you: sell to local businesses. Skip the category if: your leads come from referrals and inbound and you add fewer than a dozen new accounts a month.

Lead finders and lead databases overlap. A lead finder helps you search for leads; a lead database sells you access to millions of stored contacts. If you'd rather buy the second, my lead database roundup compares nine of them on price and data.

Final verdict

Use Openlead to find which companies and people fit your ICP, then Hunter or Apollo.io to get their emails; that pair takes a small team from ICP to email address. Pick Seamless.AI or Kaspr for phone-heavy sales, and D7 Lead Finder for local businesses. Try Openlead free

Frequently asked questions

What is the best lead finder for small businesses?

The best lead finder for small businesses is one with a free start and no yearly contract: Openlead ($50 in credits without a card) to find fitting companies and people, Apollo.io's free plan for emails and phone numbers, or Hunter's 50 free credits a month for emails at known companies. If you sell to local shops, D7 Lead Finder is built for that.

How do you find leads quickly?

Describe your customer in one sentence in a search tool such as Openlead, or set three or four filters (title, industry, company size, location) in Apollo.io. Then run the companies through an email finder. In my experience most of the time goes into defining who you want, so write that down first.

What is the best way to find leads?

Start from your ideal customer profile, build a list of companies that fit, find 1 to 3 decision makers at each, then get and verify their emails before you reach out. Tools differ in which of those steps they cover, so many teams combine two.

How much does D7 Lead Finder cost?

D7 Lead Finder costs $44.99 a month for Starter (10 searches a day), $54.99 for Agency (30 a day) and $119.99 for Professional (100 a day), all month to month, as listed on November 4, 2026. You also get 5 free searches a day, without export.

Is D7 Lead Finder good?

D7 Lead Finder is good for one job: lists of local businesses by city and keyword, with business emails and websites. It has only six G2 reviews (3.8 out of 5), and it doesn't name decision makers, so B2B teams selling to larger companies should look elsewhere.

Where can I find a free leads list?

Free plans are the safest source: Apollo.io gives 900 credits a year per seat, Hunter 50 credits a month, Skrapp.io 50 credits, Kaspr 15 email credits a month, Openlead $50 in credits without a card, and D7 Lead Finder 5 searches a day (not exportable). Bought lists of unknown origin tend to be stale, and using them can raise GDPR questions in Europe.
